Social Security System
What is SSS?
The Philippine Social Security System, SSS, is the national social insurance system established by the Philippine government to benefit all workers in the country’s private and informal sectors. As the state-run social insurance system, SSS serves to provide various benefits, most notably a pension upon a person’s retirement or a lump-sum grant if chosen.
In order to be covered by SSS, workers pay-into the system throughout their employment, with their contribution depending on their income-level. Upon the age of 60, most workers may qualify for the pension if they have provided at least 120 months of SSS contributions prior to the six-month period before the first payment.
Apart from the retirement pension or fund, SSS also provides insurance and benefits in the forms of sickness, maternity, disability, unemployment, sickness or injury, death, and or funerary services. SSS also provides loans in various circumstances.
Who Qualifies?
All private-sector employees, self-employed persons, and household workers may register to SSS.

How Can the National Registry Help Me?
The FDCP National Registry can help you apply for and receive various government-run social services including SSS. As an organization established by FDCP to organize and provide a database for all active film and audio-visual workers, the National Registry can help you receive SSS benefits by serving as a liaison between you and SSS.
