Butch Ibañez is a BS Economics graduate from the U.P. School of Economics, University of the Philippines in Diliman. He worked at SM Cinema for five years as Theater Manager and Film Booking Manager. After which, he became the head of the Business Development & Research of Star Cinema. In 2008, he joined Solar Entertainment Corporation.
He is currently the General Manager of Solar Pictures Inc., the film distribution arm of Solar Entertainment . He is also the Vice Head of the National Committee on Cinema of the NCCA. He collaborates with filmmakers, looking for mutually beneficial projects to support.
