About the Program
The FDCP DEAR (Disaster Emergency Assistance and Relief) Program is an emergency response fund established by FDCP in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program provides direct financial assistance to FDCP’s stakeholders who have been affected by a major natural disaster or public health emergency such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is activated every time the President of the Philippines declares a public emergency or State of Calamity in the country.
FDCP’s DEAR program is divided into three further sections: DEAR ACTION! for displaced freelance audiovisual content workers, DEAR PRESS! For displaced freelance entertainment press, and DEAR LIVE! For displaced freelance audiovisual live performance workers. Each displaced worker who qualifies for the program is given a flat-rate cash assistance of five thousand (P5,000) or eight thousand pesos (P8,000). This form of assistance is tax-free and aims to help cover essential needs during the crisis period. The program is eligible to all freelance AV workers but FDCP gives priority to those earn P3,000 or less or are contracted for P20,000 or less per project.
